Bill Feland, president and owner of Preferred Roofing Inc., graduated from Southern Nazarene University and spent six years working as a claims adjuster and supervisor while roofing on the side. Through daily interaction with trustworthy roofing contractors, he recognized the need for an honest roofer who truly understood the industry. This inspired him to enter roofing full-time, and in 1993, he founded Preferred Roofing, offering residential and light commercial roofing services.
To deliver the highest level of expertise, Bill has continually expanded his knowledge by working with leading organizations such as the National Roofing Contractors Association, the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association, the Spray Polyurethane Foam Association, and industry manufacturer training programs, including Conklin, GAF, and Foam Enterprises.
QUALITY DRIVEN
Bill Feland, president and owner of Preferred Roofing Inc., got his bachelor’s degree from Southern Nazarene University. He worked as a claims adjuster and supervisor for six years, roofing on the side. Dealing with roofing contractors daily, he recognized the need for an honest contractor with roofing expertise. He decided to go full time into the roofing business and started Preferred Roofing in 1993, as a residential and light commercial roofing company.
For more than 30 years, he has continued to increase his knowledge of the roofing industry, becoming involved with the National Roofing Contractor’s Association, the Midwest Roofing Contractor’s Association, the Spray Polyurethane Foam Association, as well as participating in many roofing manufacturer’s training schools, including, Conklin, GAF, and Foam Enterprises

Preferred Roofing is truly a family operation. Bill learned how to roof by working with his dad as a child. Both of his sons grew up on roofs and around the business. He is proud to now have both of them working alongside him at Preferred Roofing. Tanner, the oldest, started full-time in 2011 after playing college baseball at Johnson County Community College in Kansas City. Dillon, the youngest, joined the team in 2016 after playing baseball and receiving a finance degree from Southern Nazarene University. Our commitment to family and integrity guides everything we do.
Preferred Roofing is truly a family-run business. Bill learned roofing by working alongside his father, and he passed that same experience on to his own sons. Today, both Tanner and Dillon work with him at Trust Preferred Roofing, helping continue the family legacy built on values and integrity. Tanner joined full-time in 2011 after playing college baseball, and Dillon came onboard in 2016 with a finance degree from Southern Nazarene University. Everything we do is guided by family, honesty, and dependable service you can trust.
